We are seeking a License Able Seaman, Upon Oceans - Part-time/On-call to join our Ohana. This position will be located at Okinawa, Japan. 


Responsible for routine deck operations aboard the vessel, including but not limited to:

  • Performs necessary routine maintenance and repairs to all equipment under the cognizance of the boat's deck department.  Accomplishes all deck operation under the directions and guidance of the First Mate.
  • Loads cargo and prepares the boat for operation out at sea.
  • Stands watches while the vessel is underway as required in order to accomplish the mission/event safely and expeditiously.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the vessel.


Possess the following valid certifications or licenses:

  • USCG license as an abled bodied seaman, upon oceans rating.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, reference checks and background check.
  • Must have acute hearing, eyesight and depth perception to meet the demands of at-sea service.

Physical Demands of the Job:

  • Applicants will be tested to ensure they can meet the physical demands while performing the tasks required for; transferring rigging, laying rigging, handling lines, moving and operating cranes, routine housekeeping duties, general maintenance, and assisting in the mooring of the boat. These duties will be performed during all types of weather, night and day, and while the vessel is underway and back at port.
  • Required to use hand tools, power tools, painting equipment, and personal protective gear.
  • Frequently required to move equipment that is heavy or awkward and must meet a 50 lb. lifting requirement.
