We are seeking a Shop Supervisor - Mechanic to join our Ohana. This position will be located in Waipahu, Hawaii.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision and overseeing of the installation and service of various aftermarket equipment into various types of vehicles.  The candidate will also supervise all shop personnel and conduct quality control on all vehicles prior to delivery.


  • Capable of performing the duties of a Tech III and below
  • Ability to trouble shoot existing installations and/or issues that may arise during the installation process
  • Manage installation projects. Ensure all jobs are completed per specifications and on-time as well as within budget
  • Manage operational cost, shop inventory and shop safety as well as enforce company policy and procedures. Conduct shop safety through regularly scheduled meetings and/or handouts provided by corporate office
  • May assist in tracking orders for installations to ensure timely delivery
  • Create/prepare, understand and explain complicated schematics for customers and employees
  • May be asked to quote product lines represented by the Installation & Maintenance Division through understanding proper mark-ups and labor times
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of timesheets and expense report to Office Administrator and/or General Manager for approval
  • Train technicians in a 12VDC and 24VDC environment and assist them to learn/grow in their field and become better assets to our customers, NHV and their fellow employees
  • Develop product knowledge in every aspect of the Installation & Maintenance Division
  • Develop an understanding of NHV procurement processes, procedures and options
  • Provide supervisory skills (decision making, delegation, job scheduling, etc.) both in-house and in the field
  • Foster vendor relationship/partnerships to support NHV F&ES Sales & Service (Installation & Maintenance Division) , both in the shop through product knowledge and/or in the field
  • Develop working relationships with potential customers and provide F&ES sales and service to meet customer needs in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years' experience as a technician. Considerable experience in the electrical trade or electronics field required
  • ASE certification in Electrical/Electronic systems (A6) required
  • Certifications in EVT and/or MECP a plus, but not required
  • Experience with 12V DC and 24V DC required
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Must have own tools
  • Must possess a valid states driver's license
  • Familiar with MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and Internet Explorer
  • Excellent communication abilities are essential. Must understand and communicate with both verbal and written skills
  • Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience
  • Must be able to perform all job functions that require lifting and/or carrying items weighing at least 50 lbs as well as functions/activities such as pulling, pushing, bending, standing, lifting, reaching, etc...
  • Must have an understanding of NHV procurement processes, procedures and options
  • There may be periods of overnight travel related to installation projects.
  • Work may, on a regular and recurring basis, require working outdoors, in other such environments with extreme temperatures, and/or exposure to adverse weather conditions
